Global Credit Union Foundation Raises $50,000 for Washington and Idaho Nonprofits

The Foundation is on a mission to help our communities thrive

Coeur d’Alene, Idaho – The Coeur d’Alene Resort Golf Course, home of The Floating Green, provided this year’s setting for the Global Credit Union Foundation Fairway Friends Golf Tournament. The August 28 event welcomed golfers of every level and Global Credit Union business partners to raise money for Operation Homefront and Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. $50,000 was raised and split between these nonprofits to help continue their vital work in the community.

“I can’t think of a better way to help raise money than to spend it playing golf next to beautiful Coeur d’Alene Lake,” said Geoff Lundfelt, President of the Global Credit Union Foundation. “Once again, I’m blown away by the generosity of our friends, members, and business partners who helped us raise a significant amount of money this year.”

$25,000 was given to the Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho, whose mission is to help girls create the world they want to live in and strive to make it better every single day. They explore their strengths, take on new challenges, and can always be themselves, regardless of background or ability.

$25,000 went to Operation Homefront in support of their mission to build strong, stable, and secure military families so they can thrive, not simply struggle to get by, in the communities—OUR communities—they have worked so hard to protect.

The Global Credit Union Foundation Fairway Friends Golf Tournament is an annual Foundation event that brings together business partners, credit union leaders and volunteers, and the community to support Foundation nonprofit partners.
